MEASURE TRUE FAITH BY OBEDIENCE TO GOD’S WORD
The lesson stresses that true Christianity is not about outward show—eloquent preaching, miracles, or prosperity claims—but about sincere obedience to the Word of God. Many profess to know God yet deny Him by their actions, just as the false teachers of old twisted the Scriptures for personal gain. The Bible calls such people empty talkers and deceivers, unfit for good works, and warns us not to be carried away by their smooth words. The danger lies not in the silence of God’s Word, but in the failure of many to let the Bible alone speak as the final authority.
In contrast, salvation and authentic worship are found only in the unchanging gospel of Christ. The early church grew strong by following the apostles’ doctrine, and today’s believers must do the same if they are to avoid deception. The call is clear: test every teaching by Scripture, flee from empty vessels, and hold fast to Christ, who alone has authority. To profess Him without obedience leads to rejection, but to hear, believe, and obey His Word brings true life, peace, and fellowship in the one church that belongs to Him.
