ANGER
A highly anticipated wedding that had flooded social media with pictures and excitement suddenly collapsed in a shocking twist. The groom, blinded by anger when his calls went unanswered, stormed to his fiancée’s house, destroyed her belongings, and accused her without proof. Stunned by such violent behaviour, the bride-to-be called off the marriage, choosing peace over a life of misery. Truly, it is better to endure a broken engagement than to be trapped in a broken marriage.
This real-life drama points us to a deeper truth—anger is a destructive fire. Left unchecked, it ruins homes, friendships, and even faith. The Bible warns us to “be angry and sin not” (Eph 4:26) and to overcome evil with good (Rom 12:21). Anger itself is not sin, but what we do in anger can lead to regret, destruction, or eternal loss. Beloved, before you speak, before you act—pause. Ask yourself: “Would Jesus approve of this reaction?” A calm spirit and self-control are far greater victories than any outburst of rage.
