THE PRICE OF THE DREAM I

Wilma Rudolph’s journey from a sickly, polio-stricken child to a world-renowned Olympic champion is more than a feel-good story—it’s a powerful reminder that greatness always comes with a price. Her triumph was not handed to her; it was forged in fire—through pain, discipline, and relentless perseverance. Her story echoes the truth that dreams are not for the faint of heart. If we are to walk in the fullness of God’s plans for our lives, we too must press beyond every obstacle—both visible and invisible—and be willing to pay the price.

We often say, “I’m going through something,” as if that’s a sign of failure. But the truth is, “going through” is a sign of progress—it means you’re not stuck! God promises in Isaiah 43:2 that when, not if, we pass through the waters and fire, He will be with us. Hardships aren’t detours from the dream; they’re part of the path. Spiritual growth and personal breakthroughs happen when we choose obedience, faith, and right choices—even when we’re hurting, afraid, or tempted to quit. Real strength is born when we keep moving forward while everything in us wants to give up.

Your dream will cost you, but it’s worth every sacrifice. Whether your battle is fear, failure, rejection, or delay—refuse to back down. Just like the speaker’s personal story of delayed education and repeated setbacks, your journey may not look perfect, but with God's help, it can still lead to purpose. Press in. Press on. No matter how heavy the pressure, push back with faith, persistence, and the unwavering belief that God is shaping you for something greater. Don't give up—your breakthrough may be one step beyond your last “no.”
