THE PRIESTHOOD OF THE OLD TESTAMENT UNDER THE MOSAIC LAW - LET THE BIBLE SPEAK WITH FELIX EKPENYONG EPISODE 6
This lesson powerfully explains that the priesthood of the Old Testament—especially under the Mosaic Law—was never the final system God intended, but a shadow designed to point forward to Christ. From the patriarchs to Aaron and the Levites, priests served as mediators through sacrifices, rituals, holy garments, and strict regulations that emphasized God’s holiness. Yet all these practices were temporary symbols, not eternal realities. Elevating these shadows today—through special robes, rituals, or human mediators—is to misunderstand their purpose and miss what God fulfilled through Jesus.
The lesson then reveals the glory of the New Covenant: Jesus Christ is our one and final High Priest, serving not in the order of Aaron but after Melchizedek, having offered His own blood once for all. Through baptism and obedient faith, all Christians are now made a royal priesthood, called not to outward ceremonies but to inward holiness, offering themselves as living sacrifices to God. Any system that reintroduces Old Testament priesthood practices denies Christ’s finished work. The call is clear—leave the shadows, embrace the substance, and remain faithful to the simple, powerful Christianity revealed in the New Testament.
